Recently renovated to bring out its best, this large sunny apartment is located in the elegant Piazza Antinori on the 4th floor (American 5th) of the building.
Composed of a large rectangular entrance hall with a window with golden and blue furniture, with a right door opening onto the richly-decorated guest bathroom, and a left door opening onto a closet. The hall leads into an ample living room with 2 windows facing the dome, the tower of Giotto and the stunning façade of the church of San Gaetano, the only Baroque church in Florence. The ornamental fireplace and two huge sofas complete the furniture of this hall, whose walls are elegantly decorated with beautiful ancient prints.
A passage on the right opens onto the bright, fully-equipped kitchen: a quaint ledge set under the large window will hosts your breakfasts with a view.
The door on the left leads to a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom featuring two large sinks and a shower with large shower head. A spacious walk-in wardrobe is set between the master bedroom and the bathroom.
The apartment is served by a lift and offers day-time porter service.
The memory of your stay in this breathtaking apartment will linger on forever. Vista Duomo can be romantic and grandiose at the same time: the view on the most significant monuments of this beautiful town is so close that you will almost be able to touch them. Sitting on the sofas of the ample living room, sipping a great Chianti, you will have the best view of Brunelleschi’s dome and Giotto’s bell tower, when the setting sun dabs the monuments with the famous mauve hue of the Florentine sunset.
Palazzo Rimbotti dates back to the 14th century, at a time when Florence was beginning to expand beyond its original Roman centre. Compared to the Via delle Belle Donne, Via Tornabuoni and Piazza Antinori were then parallel side streets leading out towards the city's exits.
It was only later, towards the mid 15th century, that Via Tornabuoni and Piazza Antinori were expanded and became the place where rich Florentines bought and refurbished large buildings to turn them into stately homes. Throughout the centuries, Palazzo Rimbotti was extensively remodeled, acquiring its present day aspect around the end 18th century.
The apartment has an enormous sitting room overlooking the façade of the church of San Gaetano. At night the church is beautifully floodlit, and the white marble Medici crest, visible directly opposite the sitting room, stands out creating a very dramatic effect.
